The Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, then the ruler of that period, settled that if the elite class of Hindu religion is able to embrace Islam then their millions of supporters automatically converted to Islam.

Therefore, he started tormenting the Kashmiri Pandits in the Kashmir province of India for transformation into Islam, they were being harassed,   The Mughal rulers introduced various laws on Kashmiri Pandits and forcefully took the women's and girls of  Kashmiri Pandits with them for  raping the women.

Local people and Kashmiri Pandits, fed up with these persecutions of the Mughal rulers, discussed with each other a permanent solution to this issue so that they could save their community from the persecution of the Mughals.

Some learned Pandits advised to go to Guru Tegh Bahadurji, who was the present Sikh guru at that time, and some Kashmiri Pandits consider this advice and came together to Guru Tegh Bahadurji so that they could save their community from Aurangzeb's tyranny.

After hearing the arguments of the Kashmiri Pandits, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji thought that he would give an answer to these abusive violations of the Mughal rulers in a very decisive and peaceful manner, and also conceived that they must take every necessary step for the protection of humanity and religion and Will do sacrifice for people while performing their duties.

Guru Sahib asked the Kashmiri Pandits to go and tell the Mughal rulers if they would convince their teacher to change their religion, then all the Kashmiri Pandits would embrace Islam.

After listening to this advice of Guru Sahib, the Kashmiri Pandits conveyed their wishes to the Mughal emperor.  On hearing this, the Mughal rulers asked Guru Tegh Bahadur to appear before the Mughal court in Delhi.

Before going to Delhi, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji appointed young Gobind Rai Ji as his successor and left with some Sikh devotees, including Bhai Dayal Dasji, Bhai Moti Dasji, Bhai Sati Dass Ji, etc. along with many Sikhs for Delhi.
